We Have A Winner!
April 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment
A fairly recent addition to the Flickr group has been the assignments (thanks to Derek who proposed them and to everyone who participates). It’s a user set challenge to get us to take pictures that fit the theme of the assignment and can really spark some creativity. It pits HFG members against each other in pursuit of the coveted “right to pick the next assignment”. It’s an emotional roller coaster here kids!!
In the past we have had 7 such assignments with great results. The history to date is as follows:
Assignment #1 – Self Portrait – Won by Metro Tiff
Assignment #2 – Pick your favourite door – Won by vewt – Paul
Assignment #3 – Grate – Won by Ham Cam
Assignment #4 – Looking through the fence – Won by Jamie
Assignment #5 – Glass – Won by R.A. Stemmler
Assignment #6 – Sunset – Won by Jabone
Assignment #7 – Reflections – Won by Derek Purdy
And now, the results are in for our 8th assignment which was “Painting With Light“. A fun and challenging one going by the limited number of entries. Great shots came in and ultimately one had to be the king of the hill so congrats goes to shellsnaps for her Neon rorshasch shot.
Can’t wait to see what assignment #9 brings us.

April 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Thanks to shellsnaps for the heads up on this great looking event.
Bob, (Shutterstorm) will be delivering a presentation to the Trillium Photographic Club on Tuesday, April 22, 8 P.M. at the East Plains United Church in Burlington.
The first half of the presentation will include hints for photographing wild birds in the region and parts of southern Ontario, along with some tips for producing a better wildlife image.
The second half of the presentation will be an introspective from behind our lenses as pro rodeo photographers.
The presentation is free of charge and HFG members are welcome… we’d love to see y’all come out.
